        ISC Mission Statement

We are proud to announce the formation of the Florida State University (FSU) Internet Seminole Club (ISC), the first Internet-based alumni/booster club of which we are aware. This "first" status was confirmed by an FSU Administration Lexis-Nexis search. The ISC was founded with the idea of uniting Alumni and friends of the University who are displaced geographically or otherwise prohibited from forming, or becoming physically involved in, a local Alumni or Booster club. The Internet Seminole Club is intended to provide a medium to help strengthen ties between the University and these displaced alumni and friends.

Consonant with the mission of the FSU Alumni Association, the mission of the ISC includes efforts "to aid, strengthen, and expand Florida State University in every proper and useful way, and to develop, strengthen and utilize the bonds of interest, sympathy, and affection existing between the University and its alumni, and among the alumni themselves."

The intended primary mission of the ISC is to provide an opportunity for the thousands of alumni and friends of the University, who make use of the Internet, to feel a renewed tie to the University by joining the ISC. As with all Seminole Clubs, this interaction is intended to provide additional support to both the academic and athletic programs of FSU through cooperation with the FSU Foundation, Inc. and the Seminole Boosters, Inc., respectively. The tangible benefits to each member and the University can become great; intangible benefits, such as increased camaraderie among geographically isolated alumni and friends, already are mounting.

We intend for the ISC to be active in a variety of endeavors for furthering both academic and athletic goals at FSU.  We hope to attract alumni, friends, and supporters of FSU. These supporters may include both corporate sponsors and individuals wishing to donate to the Alumni/endowment funds.

Specific functions and services of ISC websites will include the following:

FULL access to the wide and wonderful world of the ISC members-only website, which will include:

Information not previously available on the web such as The Alumni Patchwork newsletter
Links to FSU and ACC sites
          Game reviews
          News stories
ISC interviews with key Athletic and Administrative personel
Articles written by selected individuals analyzing aspects f Academics and Athletics
ISC Chat (includes participation in guest chats)
An archive of image files (gif, jpg, etc.)
          Humor
Copies of all past conversations/interviews with guests who appeared on the ISC Chat
Promotional items for sale (in public access area)
          ISC T-shirts, decals etc.
A Spear with a rising bar on it that shows the number of members or the donations contributed to FSU

The "ISC Guest Chat" we hope will draw numerous FSU dignitaries, including Bobby Bowden, Dave Hart, and Steve Robinson (participation of these individuals is not yet confirmed and therefore is speculative and hopeful).

The ISC remains a work in progress, and our dynamic beginning suggests we may expand this mission as we evolve and grow. Thank you for your interest.
